My Lords, since there is no speakers list for this afternoon’s debate, it may be helpful if I say a little about the expected running order. My noble friend the Leader of the House will open the debate, and will be followed by the noble Lord, Lord Strathclyde, the noble Lord, Lord McNally, and the noble Baroness, Lady D’Souza. At that point, it may be for the benefit of the House to hear from the noble and right reverend Lord, Lord Eames, who chaired the Leader’s Group. After that, the House may wish to hear from the right reverend Prelate the Bishop of Leicester, before the noble Lord, Lord Stoddart of Swindon, speaks to his amendments to the second Motion on the Order Paper.
At the conclusion of the debate on the Code of Conduct, my noble friend the Leader of the House will repeat the Statement on Afghanistan and Pakistan. Following that, my noble friend Lady Thornton will repeat the Statement on Basildon and Colchester hospital trusts.
