To ask Her Majesty's Government when they next expect to meet Ministers from the devolved legislatures in the United Kingdom to discuss promotion of economic development in rural areas throughout the United Kingdom. [HL124]

Ministers regularly meet the devolved legislatures to discuss issues of importance. However, there are currently no plans to discuss promotion of economic development in rural areas with these Ministers.

To ask Her Majesty's Government what additional budget provision is available to promote rural development throughout the United Kingdom. [HL126]

In addition to any mainstream funding available for both urban and rural development, £6.7 billion is available specifically for rural development through the four UK rural development programmes for the period 2007-13.
