To ask Her Majesty's Government how funding supplied to the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission has been assessed for value for money; by whom; and when. [HL618]

The Accounting Officer of the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission holds delegated responsibility for considering value for money in the commission's operations. The Northern Ireland Office, as sponsor department, conducts a detailed review of all funding as part of the Government Spending Review cycle with HM Treasury. During the course of each financial year, it reviews use of allocated funding through monthly management accounts, twice yearly in-year monitoring rounds, regular review meetings, consideration of business cases and through departmental efficiency exercises.
