To ask Her Majesty's Government whether they plan for new Chinook helicopters to be given clearances with limited evidence, allowing them to be in service quickly. [HL1221]

The Chinook Mk3R helicopters are just being brought into service and are at present operating with 12 clearances with limited evidence (CLE) for a number of subsystems. It is anticipated that four of these CLE will be uplifted to full clearances within two months, and the others will be uplifted as soon as possible.
