To ask Her Majesty's Government what conclusions they have reached about proposals for elections to take place at weekends. [HL1593]

The Government have consulted on the merits of moving election day to the weekend and whether it could be expected to support greater participation. The Government's response to the consultation will be published shortly. The responses reveal that there is a wide range of views on whether weekend voting would have a positive impact on turnout.
