To ask Her Majesty's Government who has been consulted as part of the Maurice Smith review of the provisions which prevent the promotion of racism in schools; and on what dates. [HL2193]
The Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families announced on 30 September 2009 that he had asked Maurice Smith, the former Ofsted Chief Inspector of Schools, to look into the issue of racism in schools and report his findings by the end of January 2010. Maurice Smith has now submitted his report to the Secretary of State, who is considering its conclusions and recommendations. A copy of the report will be placed in the Libraries of both Houses when it is published and will include details of all the organisations that contributed to the review.
