asked Her Majesty's Government:Whether, following recent proposals from the European Commission to abolish the veto for all forms of taxation that impinge on "the proper functioning of the internal market", they intend to retain their commitment, as stated in the Labour Party general election manifesto, "to retention of  the national veto over key matters of public interest, such as taxation.".
