To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what plans he has for the recruitment of community support officers in Wirral, South.

Police community support officer (PCSO) recruitment is a matter for the force concerned.

The Home Office has provided funding through the Neighbourhood Policing Fund to increase the number of PCSOs in Merseyside to 466. It is a matter for the chief constable how these are deployed across the force area.
