To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what the cost was to his Department of conferences relating to the UK's EU Presidency.

During the UK(2005) Presidency of the EU the Home Department organised a major ministerial meeting in Newcastle-Gateshead and 17 other presidency badged events/seminars.

The total cost for these events was approximately £2,325,637 of which £1,753,350 was paid by the Home Office.
