Children: Abuse

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what research has been (a) commissioned and (b) evaluated by her Department on rates of child abuse by women who have previously had an abortion; and if she will make a statement.

The Department has not commissioned any research in this area but child abuse by women who have previously had an abortion is not known to be a factor in the risk of child abuse.
