Whether they will take steps in accordance with Sections 406 and 407 of the Education Act 1996 to ensure that the film “An Inconvenient Truth” is not circulated to schools by government departments or agencies. [HL3438]

The Government are planning to distribute a climate change pack to secondary schools in England, which will include a copy of the film “An Inconvenient Truth” among other resources. Online teacher guidance accompanying the pack will remind teachers about the duties contained in Sections 406 and 407 of the Education Act 1996, which require a balanced presentation of political issues.
