Railways: Fixed Penalties

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport how many (a) fixed penalty notices and (b) court summonses were issued by rail companies in the London area to passengers in the last 12 months.

The Department for Transport does not collate this information, as the prosecution of individuals is a matter for the train operators concerned, the British Transport police and the courts.
