To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs what recent assessment his Department has made of the level of the international illegal trade of elephant ivory.

The UK has seen, and is satisfied with, the assessments of the level of the international illegal trade in elephant ivory made by the Elephant Trade Information System (ETIS). Indeed, since 2003, the UK has contributed £119,200 toward the ETIS programme.
