To ask the Secretary of State for Health what recent representations she has received on hospital charges for headphones for bedside entertainment systems; and if she will make a statement.

The Department has not received any representations on hospital charges for headphones for bedside entertainment systems.

The three major service providers advise that they do not currently charge for headphones for use with their systems.

If headphones were to become chargeable, it would be as a result of a commercial decision made by the service provider.
