Proceeds of Crime: Wales Mrs. Moon To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how much has been recovered by the (a) Assets Recovery Agency and (b) Proceeds of Crime Department of the Serious Organised Crime Agency relating to crime in the South Wales Police Authority area in (i) 2005-06 and (ii) 2006-07; and if he will make a statement. Mr. Coaker In 2005-06 the Assets Recovery Agency assisted South Wales police in obtaining a confiscation order with a value of £3.3 million. The Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) was established on 1 April 2006. It is a national agency and does not hold figures relating to UK police authorities. In their first annual report, published on 18 May, SOCA show the approximate value of their work in the UK to recover criminal assets. These figures do not include totals of cash seizures which have been made by their domestic partners.
