Welfare Tax Credits: Overpayments

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many letters were written by HM Revenue and Customs demanding the recovery of overpaid tax credits in each month since January 2007; and if he will make a statement.

HM Revenue and Customs issued around 171,000 requests to pay back overpaid tax credits (forms TC610) from January 2007 to March 2007 (inclusive).
