To ask the Secretary of State for Health what research he has (a) commissioned and (b) evaluated on the effects of dehydration on children of school age; and if he will make a statement.

The Department has not undertaken a specific research project on the effects of dehydration on children of school age. The Government’s healthy eating advice is to drink plenty of water.
