Special Constables

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) how many special constables are attached to the Lincolnshire constabulary;

(2) how many special constables are attached to police constabularies in England and Wales.

The most recent information available shows that, as at 31 March 2007, there were 171 special constables in Lincolnshire and 14,021 special constables in England and Wales.
