State Retirement Pensions: Overseas Residence

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions (1) what percentage of pensioners received their pensions while living abroad in the latest period for which figures are available;

(2) how many British pensioners were living outside the United Kingdom in the latest period for which figures are available; and if he will make a statement.

As at May 2007, there were 1,066,120 people in receipt of UK state pension living outside the United Kingdom. This is around 9 per cent. of state pension recipients.
