Cars: Exhaust Emissions

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport how many cars were sold in 2007 with tailpipe carbon emissions below 110g/km in the (a) UK and (b) EU.

Statistics regarding vehicles newly registered in 2007 are not yet available.

However, the number of cars newly registered in Great Britain in 2006 were as follows:
