Waterways: Nitrate Pollution

How much nitrate pollution in watercourses is caused by nitrates dissolved in falling rainwater. [HL3575]

A project investigating the significance of different sources of nitrogen input into watercourses is currently under way and due to report in June 2008. This will include an assessment of how much nitrogen entering watercourses originates from rainwater.
