To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many (a) physical and (b) verbal assaults on refuse operatives were recorded in each of the last five years.

The information is not collected centrally in the recorded crime statistics. While the Home Office collects statistics on the number of offences of wounding and assault without injury, no information is available on the employment status of the victim.
