14. To ask the Secretary of State for Health what his most recent estimate is of the number and percentage of people attending hospital accident and emergency departments whose treatment could have been undertaken by a trained first aider.

However, it is sensible for the local NHS to minimise the number of avoidable accident and emergency attendances.
