Prince Charles: Marriage

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice if he will place in the Library the background legal advice given to the former Lord Chancellor, Lord Falconer, in respect of the application of the Marriage Act 1949 to the marriage arrangements of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles.

On 24 February 2005, Official Report, House of Lords, columns WS87-88, the then Lord Chancellor made a written statement on the Government’s view of the lawfulness of the marriage between HRH the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall.
