To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how much the Hamill inquiry has spent on security (a) overall and (b) for (i) legal companies and (ii) witnesses.

I am advised that the Robert Hamill inquiry has spent £641,000 on security to the end of January 2009. There have been no specific costs associated with providing security for either legal companies or witnesses.
