To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if she will publish the reports her predecessors received on the activities of the security service in relation to the 1984 miners' strike, with particular reference to intelligence received from the National Union of Mineworkers and the method by which it was obtained.

It is the established policy of successive Governments to offer no comment in response to questions about alleged activities of the intelligence and security agencies. The Home Office can therefore not confirm or deny whether the Secretary of State for the Home Department's predecessors received reports in connection to the 1984 miners’ strike.
