To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster how much was spent by executive agencies and non-departmental public bodies in (a) 1996-97 and (b) the most recent year for which figures are available.

Information on total expenditure by non-departmental public bodies is published in the annual Cabinet Office publication “Public Bodies”. Copies of Public Bodies are available in the Libraries of the House.

Information is not held centrally on expenditure by executive agencies. This information is published in departmental annual reports or in individual bodies’ annual reports and accounts.
