Out of Area Treatment: Wales

To ask the Secretary of State for Health pursuant to the answer of 30 March 2009, Official Report, column 901W, on out of area treatment: Wales, whether the protocol to have effect from April 2009 will be a renewal of the existing temporary protocol; and if he will make a statement.

The Government and the Welsh Assembly Government have agreed a revised protocol for cross-border health services with effect from 1 April 2009—31 March 2011. This replaces the interim protocol on cross-border commissioning.
