Sri Lanka: EU External Trade

To ask the Secretary of State for International Development what discussions he has had with his EU counterparts on withdrawing Generalised System of Preferences GSP+ benefits from Sri Lanka.

Along with other member states the United Kingdom continues to support the EU Commission’s decision to initiate an investigation into Sri Lanka’s effective implementation of the GSP+ conventions. We continue to press the Commission for a speedy conclusion.
