Carers: Expenditure Anne Milton To ask the Secretary of State for Health what estimate he has made of how much of the £150 million allocated to primary care trusts for the purposes of carers’ breaks and respite care has been spent on such assistance for carers. Phil Hope Primary care trust (PCT) expenditure on carers’ breaks and respite care is not collected centrally. The actual level of spend in each year is for PCTs to decide locally in the light of their local circumstances, and priorities as set out in the NHS Operating Framework and Vital Signs.
