Swine Flu: Health Education

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what assessment he has made of his Department’s effectiveness in the distribution to households of information on swine influenza; and if he will make a statement.

Independent research was carried out to check the receipt of the swine flu information leaflet by households, and recall of the leaflet’s information, after the household distribution had been completed. The findings confirmed that most people participating in the research when prompted recalled receiving the leaflet, and of these, the majority had read it.

Tracking research is being carried out to check awareness of the entire information campaign and knowledge and understanding of swine flu.
