Land Registry: Complaints Mr. Grieve To ask the Secretary of State for Justice how many complaints about the way in which a decision relating to land registration had been reached were (a) received and (b) completed by the Office of the Independent Complaints Reviewer in each of the last three years. Mr. Straw The figures are set out in the following table. They show the number of complaints received and not investigated (there are two main reasons why a complaint may not be investigated; if the complaint has not gone through the Land Registry complaints procedure first; or the complaint is not lodged within six months of the final outcome with Land Registry), the number of complaints investigated, and the total number of separate allegations considered within the ‘complaints investigated’ figure. The 2008-09 report has not been finalised. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | |Complaints received not investigated|Complaints investigated|Number of allegations investigated| ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |2005-06 |n/a |16 |75 | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |2006-07 |38 |24 |121 | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |2007-08 |30 |22 |98 | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |n/a = Not available.| | | | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
