To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will bring forward proposals to increase the fixed penalty for offences under section 14(3) of the Road Traffic Act 1998 to £60; what recent representations he has received on this issue; and if he will make a statement. [R]

Mr. Alan Campbell
The fixed penalty for these offences was increased to £60 by the Fixed Penalty (Amendment) (No. 3) Order 2009. The increase came into effect on 30 June.
