Mauritania: Diplomatic Relations

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what consideration the Government has given to opening an embassy in Mauritania.

We have no plans to open an embassy in Mauritania.

However, we do intend to deploy a diplomatic officer into Nouakchott later this year. The officer will be remote working from, and responsible to, our embassy in Rabat.
