To ask Her Majesty’s Government why strategic health authorities differentiate between the funding of drug prescriptions in prisons and the funding of prescriptions in primary care trusts. [HL5281]

Strategic health authorities do not differentiate between the funding of drug prescriptions in prisons and primary care trusts (PCTs). PCTs have been responsible for the funding of healthcare services provided in prison, including the cost of any medication, since April 2006.
