Gibraltar: Warships

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence how many (a) Royal Navy ships and (b) foreign military ships have docked in Gibraltar in each of the last three years.

The number of ships that have docked in Gibraltar Naval Base in each of the last three complete years is provided as follows:

2006: 72 Royal Navy and seven foreign

2007: 59 Royal Navy and seven foreign

2008: 52 Royal Navy and 12 foreign

2009: As of 28 October 2009, there have been 51 Royal Navy and five foreign naval visits.
