To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what his assessment is of the proposals in the Financial Services Authority's Retail Distribution Review, with particular reference to their effects on independent financial advisers; and if he will make a statement.

The Retail Distribution Review is a matter for the FSA, as the independent regulator. The FSA published a cost-benefit analysis alongside its latest proposals, as well as further analysis by independent consultants, on the FSA website.
