To ask the Secretary of State for Justice what payments the Solicitors Regulation Authority has made to Lexington in the last 12 months; for what purposes; and if he will place in the Library a copy of the contract under which such payments were made.

The Solicitors Regulation Authority is the independent regulatory arm of the Law Society of England and Wales. It receives no public funding, and is paid for by the solicitors’ profession, including through practising fees. I have asked the SRA if this information is available, and they have agreed to respond in writing directly to the hon. Member.
