Television: Licensing

To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport what plans he has to enable British troops serving in Afghanistan to claim a rebate on their television licence fee for the time they are serving away from home.

Provision exists in the current legislation for refunds in certain circumstances. The interpretation and enforcement of the legislation on television licensing is a matter for the BBC.
