Roads: Salt

To ask the Minister of State, Department for Transport how many tonnes of salt are held by each local authority in England.

A table has been placed in the Libraries of the House which shows how many tonnes of salt local authorities estimate they have available, according to the local authority salt audit returns the Department for Transport had received at 10am on 21 January.

These figures provide a snapshot of one day and may not fully reflect the regional weather, salt delivery dates, weather preparedness or distribution practices.
