To ask Her Majesty's Government further to the Answer by Lord Brett on 10 March (Official Report, col. 243), whether they have offered any advice or assistance in relation to the financial position of Manchester United; and whether they will take any action as a result. [HL2803]

The financial position of Manchester United is a matter for the club and the football authorities.

The Government will continue to push the football authorities for tougher regulation from within the game.
