Identity Cards

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many responses were received by 30 September to the consultation paper on identity cards, Cm. 2879; and if he will arrange for these to be placed in the Library along with a summary of the responses to the various points listed in paragraph 8.6 upon which views were sought. Mr. Kirkhope
We have received some 3,000 responses to the Green Paper on identity cards. I will not be publishing individual replies but a summary of the responses will be made available in due course.
