asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department when full-time paid members of the N.F.S. will be able to draw their gratuity and post-war credit.

I hope that it will soon be possible to commence payments to the former members of the fire service who are entitled to them, but there is a great deal of preparatory work to be done and I am afraid that it will be some considerable time before all outstanding cases can be settled.
