asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what forecasts the Government have made regarding the future of the United Kingdom's fishing fleet.

The future of the fleet will depend upon decisions taken by individual fishermen. They will take account of the available fishing opportunities and the recently agreed 10-year Fisheries Structures Regulation 4028/86 which will provide a basis for new investment in the industry.In addition, I hope shortly to be able to make an announcement on a new capital grant scheme.
