Council House Sales Mr. Forrester asked the Secretary of State for the Environment which local authorities have conveyed more than 5,000 of their dwellings to sitting tenants since May 1979; and which have conveyed between 3,000 and 4,000, between 2,000 and 3,000, between 1,000 and 2,000, between 500 and 1,000 and under 500. Sir George Young Information on council dwelling sales specifically to sitting tenants was not collected before the financial year 1980–81. Figures are now published regularly in "Local Housing Statistics", which is available in the Library: those for 1980–81 were in issue 59 and for the first half of 1981–82 in issue 61.Information on the progress of right to buy sales to sitting tenants to the end of March 1982, and on all sales of council dwellings between April 1979 and March 1982 is also available in the Library following the reply my hon. Friend gave to my hon. Friend the Member for Paddington (Mr. Wheeler) on 12 July 1982.—[Vol 27, c. 297.] Mr. Grylls asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what were the reasons given for the failure of the London boroughs of Bromley, Croydon, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Lambeth, Newham, Redbridge and Richmond upon Thames to supply the number of right-to-buy applications outstanding as noted in the table set out in the Official Report of 9 July, c. 230. Mr. Stanley In the table to which my hon. Friend refers the number of right-to-buy applications in progress was indicated as not available if, at that time, the relevant quarterly return had not been received, or if an authority's figure was not consistent with other information provided by that authority about applications received and applications dealt with, and was therefore being queried with the authority.
