War Risks Insurance (Real Property) Colonel Baldwin-Webb asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he has yet received the report of the Committee appointed to inquire into the State insurance of houses and other real property in time of war; if so, whether he can announce the decision of the Government on the subject; and, if not, whether the report can be expedited, in view of the outbreak of hostilities since the committee was set up? Sir J. Simon The answer to the first part of the question is in the negative and the second part therefore does not arise. In reply to the third part of the question, Lord Weir's Conference has, owing to the outbreak of war, expedited its inquiries and I understand that it hopes to present its conclusions to the Government in the very near future.
