National Parks

Dr. David Clark
asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will list the national park authorities that have requested the designation of areas of land under section 42 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, and the name of each location and its size; and if he will make a statement on each request.

In each case the farmer had voluntarily notified the authority of his intentions and an order under section 42 would not have been appropriate.
