Metropolitan Police (Receiver) Bill The House went into Committee on this Bill. (In the Committee.) On Clause one, MR. T. H. BOLTON asked how long the Receiver of the Metropolitan Police was to be absent from his duties? *MR. GEORGE RUSSELL said he did not know that the Receiver was absent from his duties. The object of the Bill was to make provision in case he was taken ill. There was no power at present to enable anybody to do the work, if the Receiver was laid up with influenza. Clause agreed to. Bill reported without amendment.
