Sports Council

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement on the Sports Council's grant-in-aid for 1980–81.

Subject to the approval of Parliament, the grant-in-aid to the Sports Council for 1980–81 will be £19·159 million. This compares with the last financial year's total figure of £15·58 million, being £15·4 million grant-in-aid plus a supplementary grant of £180,000. Separate grants are made to the Sports Councils in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland by the Ministers responsible.
