To ask the Secretary of State for Energy what plans there are for the discharge of low-grade nuclear waste into the sea from nuclear power stations after June.

I have been asked to reply.There are no plans to change the current system of regulating discharges by authorisations issued under the Radioactive Substances Act 1960.
